Big Brother Naija’s milestone 10th season is already heating up — and 29-year-old creative director Jason Jae is at the heart of the action. He’s made history as the first housemate to both win and defend the coveted Head of House (HOH) title under a newly introduced rule.

For the first time ever, Big Brother has added a twist that forces each newly crowned HOH to defend their position just 24 hours after winning it. And Jason Jae didn’t just rise to the challenge — he dominated.

Season 10, titled 10 Over 10, kicked off on Saturday, July 27, 2025, with the introduction of 15 female housemates. The excitement doubled the next day when 14 male contestants joined them, officially launching what’s shaping up to be the most competitive BBNaija edition to date.

At stake is a staggering ₦150 million grand prize — the biggest reward in the show’s history since its 2006 debut.

Jason Jae’s path to power began during Sunday’s Sense of Peace challenge — a three-part contest blending speed, strength, and mental toughness. The first stage involved replicating intricate wooden block designs. Out of all contestants, only eight advanced: Jason Jae, Tracy, Joanna, Thelma Lawson, Gigi, Bright Morgan, Sultana, and Victory.

The second round — Goldbar Collection — saw housemates team up to collect gold bars within a tight time limit. Jason Jae, Joanna, Bright Morgan, and Sultana made it through to the final round.

In the last stage, dubbed Treasure Challenge Box, the finalists raced to unlock a chest with a single correct key. Jason Jae emerged victorious and chose Doris as his lounge partner for the week.

But just as he began to settle into his new role, Biggie dropped a game-changing twist: the new HOH would have to defend the title the very next day against five challengers — Rooboy, Kuture, Bright Morgan, Sultana, and Dede.

Monday’s rematch was intense. The HOH Challenger Game saw Jason Jae pushed to his limits, especially by Rooboy, who proved to be his closest competition. In a nail-biting finish, Jason Jae secured his second straight win with a lightning-fast time of 2 minutes and 44 seconds. Big Brother applauded his performance, calling him the fastest housemate so far this season.

Now, with full immunity, exclusive lounge access, and control over nominations, Jason Jae will wield influence over the house for yet another week.

This season of BBNaija also brings more than just HOH drama. Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu revealed several new twists: housemates will now earn money weekly toward the ₦150 million jackpot, vote on the most impactful player of the week, and collect mysterious items called “trinkets” from the enigmatic Tree of Trinkets — an element that could disrupt strategies and shake up nominations.

Auditions for Season 10 opened online in May 2025, followed by live screenings in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu.

The last edition, No Loose Guard, saw 33-year-old Kellyrae become the first married housemate to win the show. That season also introduced breakout stars like the Mbadiwe Twins, Wanni X Handi, and Kassia.

With 10 Over 10 now in full swing, the stage is set for explosive drama, unexpected alliances, and gameplay that could flip at any moment.
